The State Library of Victoria has always had a special place in the hearts of Melburnians as somewhere to read, learn, research, study and discuss – quietly, of course.

But to Alex Cartel, the head of corporate finance and advisory at Citi and the president of the Takeovers Panel, the library is a cornerstone in his family’s unique Australian story, with a connection that continues to this day.
