More than one in two people eligible for a COVID-19 booster shot have not come forward for their third dose, contradicting statements from Health Minister Greg Hunt and Prime Minister Scott Morrison that up to 80 per cent of eligible Australians have received a booster.

It comes as NSW battles a new wave of COVID-19 and doctors warn they have insufficient supplies of booster shots.
