Until Friday, Mark McGowan, along with Western Australia’s main benefactor, Xi Jinping, seemed to be the last leaders in the world pursuing a COVID-19 elimination strategy.
But as he faced growing pressure to outline a border reopening timetable, McGowan now is taking baby steps to rejoin the rest of Australia and the world, by some unspecified date in early February.
