Infectious disease experts have welcomed Australia’s plan to start COVID-19 vaccine booster doses next month in moves to ward off risk from waning immunity and improve protection against emerging strains of the virus.
Health Minister Greg Hunt announced on Wednesday that Pfizer’s mRNA vaccine was approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration and would be offered as a universal booster to Australian adults, six months after their second dose.
