The activist investor riding Japan’s governance revolution
Seth Fischer of Oasis Management says there are easy wins to he had as Japan’s corporate governance revolution provides activist investors with fertile ground.
In the storied history of activist investing, it’s unlikely there have been many campaigns fought over the price of beer.
But when fund manager Seth Fischer went public with his campaign against Japanese group Tokyo Dome Corporation early last year, the price of a brew - or rather, the lack of price - neatly symbolised the issues at the company, which owns and runs the biggest stadium in the Japanese capital.
