Facebook’s disconnection problem
If US regulators have their way, the social media giant won’t just be disconnected from its users, as happened on Monday. Its platforms will be disconnected from each other, too.
You know you’re in trouble when you suffer a global outage that brings down all your apps and websites and wipes almost $10 billion off your personal wealth, as happened to Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg on Monday, and it’s not even the biggest problem you faced all week.
Having nearly 3 billion users unable to connect for six hours wasn’t even Facebook’s biggest disconnection problem of the week.
