More than 23m vaccine doses delivered, Hunt says
Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt is in Canberra giving a vaccine update.
He says more than 23 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been delivered across the nation and employers will now be able to vaccinate staff in the workplace, as first reported by The Australian Financial Review.
There are 400,000 doses to go until 70 per cent of the population aged 16 and over have received at least one dose.
Asked what is happening with rapid antigen testing, Hunt says there are now 28 types approved and they will play “a big part in Australia’s pathway out of lockdown”.
“I’m hopeful the tests will be available at the earliest possible time for workplaces and then subsequently ... in the home,” he says.
