Corporate Australia needs to get serious about diversity

The latest Chief Executive Women census of women in senior executive roles suggests it will take 65 years before women make up 40 per cent of line roles in executive leadership teams.

The percentage of women in leadership in Australian business already looked bad before Chief Executive Women extended its annual census of female executive leadership to include the top 300 companies.

Previously the analysis was focused on companies in the S&P ASX 200, where the percentage of women CEOs in 2021 was 5 per cent, the same as in the first census in 2017.
