London | Dan Labbad spent more than two decades at Lendlease, almost reaching the top of the greasy pole as head of its international business. But even that CV could scarcely have prepared him for the biggest move of his career.
Two years ago he quit Lendlease’s London office to work, ultimately, for the Queen. As CEO of the Crown Estate, he manages the monarch’s £14.4 billion ($27.2 billion) property empire, built up (and sometimes sold down) since the Norman invasion of 1066.
