Six collectable cars that could fetch world-record prices
The hearts of cashed-up motoring enthusiasts are racing ahead of the auction of collectable Porsches, Maseratis, Ferraris and more at Monterey Car Week.
The 1957 Maserati 200 SI 106 could fetch $US4.5 million when it is auctioned.
Monterey Car Week, which includes the famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and The Quail Motorsports Gathering, returns this month, and the accompanying auctions could bring world-record prices for collectable cars.
This American celebration of everything automotive – and specifically everything classic and upmarket – joins England’s Goodwood Festival of Speed and Italy’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este among bucket-list pilgrimages for motoring enthusiasts.
