Premiers lock down states to crush delta outbreak

Business support will be expanded for beleaguered Victorian businesses after the five-day lockdown was extended, and Monash University modelling suggested tight restrictions could be required for a month to quash the delta outbreak.

The extended lockdown came as South Australia moved swiftly to impose tough restrictions after new community cases were reported in the north-eastern suburbs of Adelaide in two people who returned from extended stints in Argentina.
