Singapore | The end of the fasting month of Ramadan is traditionally a cause for celebration in Muslim communities across south-east Asia. Not this year.
In Indonesia and Malaysia, police are patrolling state borders and main roads to enforce bans on travel, but many are concerned this will not be enough to stop the traditional family gatherings to celebrate this week’s holiday known as Eid, Hari Raya or Lebaran.
