A custom-built catamaran is setting new standards for cashed-up travellers looking to explore the island country’s coastline.

Rua Moana guests can play with equipment that includes jet skis, Seabobs, a 4.35 metre jet tender, paddleboards and even scuba equipment.

For those who appreciate a well-designed yacht, few pastimes can rival watching the Prada Cup, the event that determines the challenger for the America’s Cup. During this year’s event in Auckland, however, the competing yachts weren’t the only vessels attracting attention on the harbour. Also generating buzz was the Rua Moana, the 26-metre catamaran chartered by Prada to give its VIP guests and sponsors the best view of the races.

The Prada Cup, held over a month from mid-January, was something of a coming out for the custom-designed vessel, built in New Zealand and launched last year with a simple mission: to be the best superyacht in local waters.
