India outbreak challenges forecasts for Asia-led recovery

Singapore | Expectations that Asia would lead the world out of the pandemic-induced recession have taken a jolt after India posted another daily record to report more than 2 million new COVID-19 cases in a week.
The Asian Development Bank is clinging to its forecast that India’s economy will grow by 11 per cent this year, even while cautioning the worst is yet to come.
