Premier Investments shareholders have backed chairman Solomon Lew’s ‘captain’s pick’ decision to poach JB Hi-Fi chief executive Richard Murray as his retail chief without running a formal internal or external search.

Mr Lew has flagged a “new chapter” at Premier after head-hunting Mr Murray to run his $4 billion retail business, which includes Smiggle, Just Jeans, Peter Alexander, Dotti and Portmans.
