London | Britain has entered a period of national mourning following the death at age 99 of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband of the Queen for 73 years.
British flags on official buildings were lowered to half-mast, and most BBC radio stations - even those devoted to pop and classical music - switched to rolling news coverage of the duke’s passing.
