European, UK experts turn up pressure on AstraZeneca over blood clots
London | Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pleaded with the British people to keep turning up for their AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccinations, after scientists in Italy and Britain said there potentially was a causal link to rare blood clots.
The head of vaccines at the European Medicines Agency (EMA), Marco Cavaleri, caused a storm on Tuesday after telling an Italian newspaper that in his view “there is an association [of blood clotting] with the vaccine ... but we still do not know what causes this reaction”.
