AGL links with UK’s OVO in energy AI

AGL Energy has bought a majority stake in the Australian retail business of UK-based OVO Energy and taken a licence to use the digital specialist’s smart energy platform to support customers as they become more integrated into the grid.
The news of the joint venture, which should help customers reduce bills and carbon emissions, comes ahead of AGL’s investor briefing on Tuesday, when it is expected to announce a new strategy, potentially involving a restructuring or demerger.
