This used to be the stuff only of nightmares. It used to be that only the darkest recesses of the mind (and maybe the minds of a few horror filmmakers) could dream up allegedly inanimate objects that are anything but. Dolls with spinning heads that suddenly animate when you approach, that turn to face you when they hear your voice, and keep watching you as you walk around. That sort of thing.

But now it seems Amazon is getting in on the act, and it’s hard to tell if it’s a nightmare scenario come to life, or a dream come true.
