The Formula One racing season starts this weekend with two new brands on the grid – Alpine, makers of the delightful A110 coupe, and Aston Martin, the legendary British car maker.

Alpine is wholly owned by Renault, and the new team is a rebranding of last year’s Renault F1 operation, designed to help the French car maker broaden the reach and credentials of its sports car brand.
