Australia's biggest student accommodation provider has praised a Victorian plan for international students to return to Australia and called on the federal government to give the go ahead for the scheme.

Scape Australia chief executive and founder Craig Carracher welcomed a Victorian government proposal to national cabinet to enable international students to begin returning to Australia to attend university.
