Rampant UK strain triggers quarantine shake-up call

State premiers want another shake-up of Australia's hotel quarantine program as a newly identified cluster of cases, infected with the highly virulent UK coronavirus strain, caused the emergency evacuation of an entire Brisbane hotel and sparked fears it may spread from Queensland.

A returned traveller and their partner with the mutant strain had somehow infected three other people on the same hotel floor, including the cleaner who pushed Brisbane into lockdown over the weekend. The cleaner's partner was also infected.
