'No corners have been cut' in Pfizer approval: UK vaccine body

London | Britain's medical regulator has said "no corners were cut" in its evaluation of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, despite its having flashed the green light well ahead of the US, Europe and Australia.
"This vaccine ... meets rigorous high standards of safety, effectiveness and quality," Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) chief June Raine told reporters. "Safety has been our watchword and it will always continue to be so."
