Property developer Joseph Alha couldn't remember how he got there, but on one November night in 2017 he found himself in the NSW Premier's office, drink in hand.

Mr Alha had been drinking for about two hours, possibly three, with now disgraced former Liberal MP Daryl Maguire, who a year later would resign from State Parliament after being embroiled in a corruption scandal.
