The biggest corporate taxpayers want an independent commission to investigate potential reforms such as cutting the 30 per cent company tax rate, expanding the GST and overhauling fringe benefits tax.
A paltry 2 per cent of the 46 member respondents to the Corporate Tax Association survey said the "current political processes" were the right vehicle to pursue tax reform.
