Britain restricts social contact to avert wider lockdown

London | British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has introduced a sweeping "rule of six" to counter a surge in COVID-19 cases, limiting any outdoor or indoor social gathering in England to no more than half a dozen people.
By limiting social contacts from next Monday, with a minimum £100 ($180) fine for breaches and introducing "COVID-secure marshals" enforcing social distancing on the streets, the government hopes to keep the economy ticking and kids at school.
