Plastic waste push overshadowed by environment spat

The government has moved to ban the export of waste products in a bill that Prime Minister Scott Morrison says will force local companies to take greater environmental responsibility for their output.

But the ban is being overshadowed by a spat with Labor over amendments to Commonwealth environmental laws which establish a "one-stop shop" for approving and assessing the environmental impacts of major projects.
