Victoria's harsh restrictions appear to be working as cases start to fall and the state flattens the curve for a second time.

Despite a "real sense of hope" that the strategy was working, Premier Daniel Andrews announced that Victoria's state of emergency had been extended for at least four more weeks in a bid to keep driving coronavirus cases down in the virus-riddled state.
