PM orders army into Melbourne's virus hotspots
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has staged a dramatic intervention into Victoria by sending the army in to help escalate contact-tracing before the state’s coronavirus outbreak derails the national economic recovery.
Weeks after assistance was first offered, Mr Morrison said army trucks might have to be stationed at the end of streets in Melbourne and officers would knock on the doors of thousands of residents who had not answered phone calls or co-operated with contact tracers.
