Australia suspends Hong Kong extradition treaty

Australia has moved to suspend its extradition treaty with Hong Kong after Beijing imposed sweeping national security laws designed to clamp down on criticism of China's authoritarian regime.
The move further stoked tensions between Australia and China, which have hit new highs in recent months as the Morrison government has sought to push back against China's acts of belligerence.
