Major employers along the NSW-Victorian border have urged authorities to streamline freight and workforce movement across the Murray River, as COVID-19 closures split communities.
Preparations for emergency closures at 55 border crossings continued as traffic in big border communities increased dramatically before restrictions from 12.01am on Wednesday.
