'Never be the same': How Slack's CEO sees the future of work

The co-founder and chief executive of workplace software giant Slack, Stewart Butterfield, says the world of work will need to be completely re-assessed in the eventual aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, with much more flexible workforces, on-demand work days and big deals increasingly being conducted virtually.

San Francisco-based Slack is one of the band of tech giants to have most benefited from the lockdown era, as organisations around the world have been forced to adopt its messaging and collaboration software in droves to keep their wheels turning. But Butterfield says major long-term changes are yet to become clear.
