Australian readers are looking closer to home for their literary pleasures, with local authors having written 60 per cent of the most borrowed library books over the past year, according to the Civica 2020 Libraries Index.

Australian authors including Liane Moriarty, Scott Pape, Leigh Sales, Jane Harper and Trent Dalton joined Michelle Obama and James Patterson on the top 10 list of most borrowed library books, with Scott Pape’s ubiquitous Barefoot Investor books ranking twice.
