Turning point raises hopes of lockdown easing
Australia has reached a remarkable turning point in the battle against the spread of COVID-19 with just eight new cases reported across the country on Monday and no new cases in Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia.
The total number of cases reached 6619 with NSW reporting just six new cases and Victoria only one. No new deaths were reported as of 5.30pm AEST, leaving the national toll at 71.
