Australia has evaded the catastrophic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the jury is still out on how much is due to its aggressive policy stance and how much to the seasonal advantage of the virus arriving in summer.
Respiratory viruses prefer winter and maps clearly show the pandemic has been far more severe in the northern hemisphere’s winter than the southern summer.
