Crown Resorts has closed its Melbourne and Perth entertainment facilities in response to government orders to shut down all non-essential businesses across the nation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company will continue to provide hotel accommodation, although at a reduced capacity, and chief executive Ken Barton said the virus presented an "unprecedented challenge" for Crown.
