Energy Australia flags coal power boost at existing sites

Power and gas supplier Energy Australia has flagged a likely increase of coal power at its generators in NSW and Victoria as it continues to hold off committing to new lower-emissions supply projects that are yet to get the go ahead.

After outages throughout 2019, coal power generation at the Yallourn plant in Victoria is "expected to progressively return to previous levels in 2020," EnergyAustralia's parent company, CLP Group, said in its annual results statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange.
