Boom for America means doom for Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders is set to become the Democrats' choice for the White House. But his chances of selling socialism to middle America do not look good.

By rights, Donald Trump should be on the ropes. His refusal to abide by familiar US presidential decorum offends many American voters, including many college-educated Republicans in relatively affluent electorates. That’s why his party lost control of the House of Representatives in 2018.

As well, Trump is only the third US leader to be impeached. That alone should make him the most vulnerable first-term US president since Jimmy Carter four decades ago.
