As sunset rolls over Santa Monica, Los Angeles, on a Friday evening in early January, pop.in co-founder Alex Kruglov sits down for drinks at Rose Cafe.
A refugee from modern day Kiev, Kruglov moved to the United States in December 1991 just as the Soviet Union was dissolving. As the bar lights up with the familiar blue glow of smart phone screens, he says media and technology helped him to "become" American and feel at home.
