Sydney is once again smothered in acrid bushfire smoke that is up to 2.5 times the hazardous level, but operations at Sydney Airport and the city's public transport system were working smoothly early on Wednesday morning.
In Sydney's East, the Air Quality Index sat at 518 – over 2.5 times the hazardous level – at 10 am. The North-West recorded an AQI of 275, and in the South-West, this was 198.
