British election race tightens as leaders enter final furlong
London | British Prime Minister Boris Johnson enters the final straight of the election campaign with a winning lead over Labour challenger Jeremy Corbyn, but the gap is narrowing as the December 12 polling day draws near.
The Conservative Party is averaging 42.4 per cent in recent opinion polls, little changed from the start of the campaign a month ago, but Labour has shifted its median score from the high 20s at the outset to 32.8 per cent now. The question is whether Corbyn has any more petrol in the tank to narrow the gap further.
