PM stands by Angus Taylor as police probe alleged fake report

The Energy Minister's use of wildly inflated travel figures to attack Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore over climate change has attracted the interest of NSW Police.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison is standing by Energy Minister Angus Taylor despite NSW Police launching an investigation into an allegedly fraudulent document he cited to attack Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore over climate change policy.

After speaking to NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller, Mr Morrison rejected Labor's demands Mr Taylor be stood aside under the ministerial code of conduct while the probe is conducted.
