RCEP failure switches focus to 'ASEAN plus three'

Jakarta | Indonesia's determination to get what would be the world's largest proposed trade deal over the line will be sorely tested in the next few months - especially when there is a ready-made alternative in the wings.
On Monday it was confirmed there would be no agreement on the final text of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership between the 16 countries despite days of furious negotiations at the ASEAN Summit in Bangkok.
