London | Mining services company AJ Lucas's big bet on British shale gas exploration looks to have backfired, after the UK government on Saturday slapped a fresh and seemingly indefinite moratorium on fracking.
Cuadrilla Resources, the British explorer that AJ Lucas half-owns, now faces a hugely uncertain future, after Prime Minister Boris Johnson's government said fracking could not restart until there was "compelling evidence" it was safe.
