Aged care in Australia represents a “a shocking tale of neglect” which fails vulnerable citizens and needs a fundamental overhaul, the royal commission has found.
Thursday's interim report by commissioners Richard Tracey and Lynelle Briggs said the design, objectives, regulation and funding of the industry needed urgent reform, as it failed to uniformly deliver safe and quality care.
