ATO boss Chris Jordan attacks whistleblowers
Tax Commissioner Chris Jordan has hit out at media organisations campaigning against laws criminalising journalism, claiming reports about the ATO's targeting of whistleblowers are incorrect and misleading.
Appearing before Senate estimates hearings, Mr Jordan co-opted language from a campaign by Australia's biggest media outlets this week, demanding journalists apply greater accuracy to reports on two high profile whistleblower cases and the ATO's taking of money from private bank accounts.
