Uproar forces Lam to suspend policy speech to parliament

Hong Kong | Hong Kong’s embattled Chief Executive Carrie Lam was on Wednesday forced to retreat from the city’s parliament and deliver her annual policy address on television after being shouted down by pro-democracy politicians.

Ms Lam was escorted out of the legislative chamber by security personnel after lawmakers chanted slogans and made it impossible for her to read the speech. An object was thrown in her direction as she left.
