Nick Bell’s latest business has turned out to be a lot racier than he expected. The 39-year-old Melburnian catapulted into the Financial Review Young Rich List in 2017 when Melbourne IT bought the Australian arm of his digital advertising agency, WME, for $39 million.

It was a fortune made from such staid pursuits as search engine optimisation – helping businesses get more visibility on Google – and pay-per-click campaigns.
