Quad talks on Indo-Pacific future given greater status in New York

The revival of "The Quad" – the four-way dialogue between Australia, the United States, Japan and India – will accelerate this week with talks bumping up to ministerial level for the first time in New York.

It is understood Foreign Minister Marise Payne, Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will meet on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on September 26 for the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue.
