Three Blue Ducks lands in the Maldives
W Maldives resort is getting a taste of the culinary magic that has propelled the Australian restaurant group to renown at home.
It’s day one in The Maldives, and already I’ve spotted a red snapper, a green jobfish and a blue duck.
Actually, it’s the blue duck that catches the snapper and the jobfish. Mark LaBrooy, chef and founding member of Australia’s Three Blue Ducks restaurant group, is standing bare-footed on a fishing boat in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Alert but relaxed, he holds the hand line lightly. Suddenly his hand jerks upwards, lightning-fast, and he begins reeling in. At the end of the line is a handsome redthroat emperor.
